TO MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL

Dear Sir,

Complaint against Shri Ravi Saini, President of Janus Association for

Small and Medium Enterprises, New Delhi

We have received a message from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India informing that a complaint has  been received against  Mr. Ravi  Saini, President of Janus Association for small and medium enterprises having office at 12/14, W.E.A, Royal Chambers Suite # 112,Karol Bagh, New Delhi – 5 in connection with the organization of  India Festival 2006 in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 25th September,2006 to 2nd October, 2006. As per the complaint the National emblem was used without appropriate authorization and the name of Indian mission in Brazil was incorporated in publicity literature without permission and thus wrongly created an impression that the Festival was organised with the support of Government of India and Indian mission in Brazil.

The complaint also mentions that the goods sent for the Festival from India was not cleared on time and the participants were not allowed to sell the goods to visitors.  Moreover the Festival was not promoted properly and hence it was a flop as far as visit of public and selling of goods were concerned.  The Ministry of Commerce & Industry has requested the Council to advise member exporters not to participate in such type of events without consultation with this Council.

All members are hereby requested to take note of the above and avoid participation in such events in future which are not appropriately supported by the Government or endorsed by the Council.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

(E. L. PAULO)
