Participation in Integrated Textile Show ‘Modexpo’ in
Bucharest, Romania,15^th-18^th March 2007

We are glad to inform you that the Council is participating in an Integrated Indian Textile Show being coordinated by Federation of Indian Export Organizations(FIEO) in Bucharest, Romania during March 15-18, 2007.  The Show will be a part of Modexpo Fair, an International exhibition of Textiles, Apparels, Home textiles, Leather wear, Foot wear and Accessories in which India has been designated as a partner country this year. 

Market Potential:

Romania is 3^rd largest exporter of clothing to EU with more than 3,500 Garment companies and an export of Euro 3.84 Billion during the year 2004. Romania is one of the significantly growing markets for MMF textiles from India. The exports of MMF textiles to Romania were to the tune of Rs. 26.32 crores during the year 2005-06 accounting for a growth of more than 49% as compared to last year. Presently the main items of export consist of Polyester Filament and spun yarn and PV fabrics. There is great scope to increase our exports to this market considering their dependence on imports to meet their growing requirements for conversion.

Romania enjoys duty free movement of goods and services within a market of 550 million consumers comprising of EU, EFTA, CEFTA, Turkey, Macedonia, Croatia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania. Romania has joined the EU as full fledged member since 1^st January 2007.

Publicity:

The exhibition will be widely publicised by Modexpo through direct mails, advertisements and other media so as to attract large participation by the Retail Chains, Textile Importers, Agents and Converters/Ready Made Garment producers in and around Romania.

Additionally, Integrated Textile Show will also be publicized extensively in Romania and in major countries in Europe by FIEO and EPCs to attract buyers to the Indian Pavilion.  It is also proposed to hold exclusive fashion shows showcasing Indian textiles during the exhibition.  The participants may also sponsor and participate in the fashion show to create their brand image.   The exhibition will provide excellent opportunities to explore and expand our export base in this perspective and fast growing market.

Participation

The participation fee will be Rs. 50,000 for a stall of 9 sq. mt with the standard accessories for display. Interested members are requested to contact the Council at the earliest for further details.
