Sub: First Meeting of the combined Working Group of Technical Regulations on Cotton & Manmade Fibre Textiles - regarding

As you may be aware that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has developed Standards for issuing Quality Control Order (QCO) on the below mentioned MMF and Cotton Textiles:

• IS 16369: 2015 Textiles - Saris Made of cotton, MMF filaments and their Blends- Specification 
• IS 16374 : 2015 Textiles - Woven Suitings Made of cotton, MMF filaments and their Blends- Specification and 
• IS 16394:2015    Textiles - Woven Shirtings  Made of cotton, MMF filaments and their Blends- Specification 

To discuss these proposed BIS standards, the Textile Committee organised a Meeting of the Working Group on Development of Technical Regulations for Cotton & Cotton Textiles and Manmade Fibre Textiles under the Chairmanship of Shri S.P. Verma, Secretary, Textiles Committee on 26^th July 2023.  

Textile Committee is requesting for comments of the Council on the proposed standards latest by tomorrow, 4^th August 2023. The presentation made by Textile Committee during the meeting is sent herewith for kind reference. 

We request the members to kindly send their valuable inputs/ comments on the standards through email to ed@srtepc.in with a CC to baruah@srtepc.in latest by 3PM tomorrow, 4^th August 2023.  

Your timely inputs on the standards will help us to send a consolidated reply to the Textile Committee as solicited.
