Sub.: Minutes of the Meeting for Simplification of Procedures under ATUFS

Dear Member,

We would like to inform you that a Meeting for Simplification of Procedures under ATUFS chaired by Dr. Kavita Gupta, Textile Commissioner was held on 27^th March, 2018 in Mumbai to discuss issues faced by the Industry under ATUFS procedures.

The Executive Director of the Council attended the Meeting besides Industry representative from other Export Promotion Councils and Associations were also present during the meeting.

Industry Representatives submitted the following issues before the sub-committee for simplification of ATUFS Procedures:

• Standard machinery manufactures should be enlisted by a committee comprising of Machinery Manufacturers Association, Textile Association and the Office of the Textile Commissioner

• There are difficulties in complying with the documents required from the machinery supplier eg. ISO Certificates, Embassy attestation.

• Difficulty in embossing/engraving MIC on machine frame.

• Machine serial number to be mentioned in the Invoice or in the import document.

• Alternative for photo of each machine with MIC & Simplification of JIT reports.

• Complaints regarding JITs.

• Acceptance of in-principle loan sanction letter.

• Payment more than Margin Money.

• Non requirement of Manufacturing year in the Machine name plate.

• Non requirement of Machine Serial Number in invoice and Shipping documents.

Each of the above issues were deliberated in detail and decided to resolve the same.
